Embracing the Canvas of Change: A New Year's Resolution Guide for Kindness, Illustration Habits, Blog Posting, and Graduating from Visual Arts
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it's the perfect time to reflect on the canvas of our lives and consider the brushstrokes we wish to add in our daily routine.
Kindness as the Foundation:
The beginning of a new year often prompts us to think about self-improvement, but what if we shifted the focus to the well-being of others? Kindness is a resolution that transcends personal boundaries, creating a ripple effect of positivity. Simple acts of kindness, whether big or small, can make a significant impact on someone else's life. As a soon-to-be mom of 2 boys, I really need to be more kind to myself and others, by lending a helping hand, or offering words of encouragement, I resolve to be a beacon of kindness in the coming year for me, my family and my colleagues.
Illustration Habits: Nurturing Creativity:
For those immersed in the world of visual arts, the blank page, screen or canvas is a sacred space for self-expression, and a challenge at the same time. This year, make it a resolution to cultivate and enhance your illustration habits. Experiment with new techniques, explore diverse mediums, and challenge yourself to think outside the frame. Fear has hold us back long enough, not allowing us to make mistakes and without the mistakes then you cannot evolve and flourish. I will let myself guilt-free from making mistakes in illustrating or doing Concept Art, because every brush stroke will make you grow.
Blog Posting Habits: Crafting Your Digital Narrative:
Blogging is a powerful tool for self-expression and connection. Even if you are just starting out like me, working on your communication skills (written and oral) is always a good idea. And what better way to do it, than to start a real commitment to blog posting which not only helps with your communication skills but also adds to your digital presence. It is very important to set a schedule for consistent posting, engage with your audience through comments and social media, and embrace your voice in your content. Share your journey, thoughts, and creations, creating a digital narrative that resonates with readers and fellow creators.
Graduating from Visual Arts: A Journey of Growth and Pain:
This year I will be graduating from Visual Arts. Yeii me!! This is my second Bachelor degree, as my first is Graphic Design. And let me tell you, this was not just about completing a course; it's a journey of growth and self-discovery of myself as an artist, as a visual communicator. I have learned so so much. Got to meet amazing artists both as teachers and as colleagues. Such as EVADE , Sergio Smith (Madmagos), Luna de Gatos, and a lot more that I will hope to interview them for this blog. As you embark on this artistic odyssey, reflect on the skills you've acquired, the challenges you've overcome, and the unique perspective you bring to the world. Use this milestone as a springboard to explore new avenues within the art world, collaborate with fellow artists, and continue evolving as a visual storyteller.
In the tapestry of resolutions, let kindness weave through every thread, infusing your artistic pursuits and digital narratives with empathy and compassion. Embrace the transformative power of illustration habits and blog posting rituals, allowing them to shape your creative journey. And as you stand on the threshold of graduating from Visual Arts, remember that the canvas of change is infinite, waiting for your next stroke of brilliance. Here's to a year filled with creativity, kindness, and the courage to paint your story on the canvas of life.
