Three Kings' Day and the Art of Revelation
When we think of art, we often imagine it as a medium of expression, a form of communication that transcends language, and a means to convey emotions, stories, and beliefs. In many ways, art and Three Kings' Day, also known as the Epiphany, share a deep connection. This festive occasion not only marks the journey of the Kings to visit the baby Jesus but also embodies the essence of revelation, insight, and the art of giving.
It's a day when gifts are exchanged as a symbol of love and generosity, mirroring the idea of artists sharing their creations with the world. Artists, like the Three Kings, must offer their talents and creations to inspire, uplift, and enrich the lives of others. I am truly convince now that we have an innate impulse to do art, anyform of art, and I used to think it was a selfish act, but when you feel this urge to paint, to sing, to sculpt, this urge must be coming from a higher source.
We are always in this quest of beauty. Whatever this means to each one of us artists.
When we undertake a creative journey, by choice, we are seeking to express profound truths, convey beauty, and capture the essence of life and the human experience. Much like the star that guided the Kings, inspiration leads artists to discover the unknown vision of beauty within them.
The Epiphany is a moment of revelation, an "Aha!" experience that leads to greater understanding and insight. Artists experience their own moments of epiphany when they uncover a new technique, find the perfect composition, or realize the deeper meaning in their work. These moments of revelation are a driving force in the creative process, inspiring artists to push boundaries, take risks, and continually evolve.
Search, search, research, experiment and then search some more…
Artists often draw from various cultural influences, experiences, and perspectives to create art that transcends boundaries. Dont over estimate the importance or lack of importance of your views or experiences. This is a particular moment in time when storytelling is at its most importance and even the smallest stories can make a difference.
